Jerene’s Wish: Making Dreams Come True

Jerene was a patient who came to Warford Orthodontics in 2005 through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. At 15, she was battling esophageal cancer. The Make-A-Wish Foundation granted Jerene the opportunity to have a wish fulfilled, and she chose braces to straighten her teeth. When the doctors at Warford Orthodontics heard of Jerene’s Wish, they were moved to offer Jerene orthodontic treatment at no charge. In doing so, Jerene was granted two wishes: braces, and a bedroom makeover.

After Jerene’s passing in January 2006, the Jerene’s Wish Program began to take form at Warford Orthodontics. The mission of the program is to offer orthodontic care at a greatly reduced price to patients who badly want their smiles changed, but their families are financially unable to afford it. Currently, there are several patients receiving orthodontic care in Bismarck-Mandan and surrounding areas because of the Jerene’s Wish program. Applications are accepted year-round, and families who qualify are encouraged to apply.

BRACES Project

“From what we get, we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life.” ~ Arthur Ashe

The world is a better place when we give of ourselves.

In today’s busy society it can be hard to think about finding time to volunteer.  However, the benefits of volunteering are enormous, both to you, your family and the community.  The right match can help you find friends, reach out to the community, learn new skills and even advance your career.

Warford Orthodontics is encouraging their patients to give wherever they can.

Warford Orthodontics Patients can now make a difference in the world and enjoy a reduction in their treatment investment by being a RSVP+ volunteer.

RSVP+ is a federally and locally funded program that connects agencies with needs to volunteers with skills.  Their mission is to invite individuals of all ages to enhance personal growth, develop leadership skills and meet critical community needs through meaningful volunteer service and opportunities.

Patients in their first 12 months of treatment are eligible and their friends and family are encouraged to participate.

For each hour donated the first 12 months of treatment, $10 will be taken off the final balance due.  The maximum amount of the exchange is up to 20 percent of the services provided with a $1000 maximum lifetime credit per Patient.

To qualify for the exchange, the Patients as well as friends and family must complete the required paperwork prior to completion of the volunteer hours in our office.
